LTC Shabahi: Clashes in Western Region between Armed Tamashwq Groups

Department of Defense Spokesman LTC Abd al-Razzaq al-Shabahi denied that clashes taking place in the western regions were between the Worshanfana tribe and residents of Zawiya, but instead were between groups of armed Tamasheq.

Oil Production Down to a Quarter of a Million Barrels a Day

Libyan oil production is down to 250,000 barrels a day according to the Prime Minister Ali Zeidan.  Speaking yesterday at a press conference in Tripoli, he said in a bid to return to full production the government was negotiating with elders and leaders in eastern Libya to get oil terminals reopened.

Ship with Ukrainians released in Libya

"According to the data of the Ukrainian Embassy in Libya, on 29 August armed men left the ship "Etel," on board which were 19 sailors, citizens of Ukraine who had been detained in the Libyan port of Benghazi on 17 July of this year."

the Tamahagt language, "equal to the other Libyan cultural components the Amazigh, the Arabs and the Toubou."

Life is returning to normal in Sirte after armed clashes

Things are beginning to return to normal, stability and calm in Sirte, thanks to the intervention of sheikhs and local notables of the Majlis al-Hukuma that led to the resolution of armed clashes that took place between two groups of armed youth in the city.
